Rewards Program Terms

These terms (the “Rewards Program Terms”) set forth the terms and conditions of the Shopper Card cash back rewards program (the “Rewards Program”) whereby you can earn cash back for certain purchases using your Card (“Cash Back”). These Rewards Program Terms supplement all other terms and conditions associated with the Shopper Card. Terms not defined herein shall be defined in the Business Cardholder Agreement. In the event of any inconsistency between these Rewards Program Terms and any provision of your Business Cardholder Agreement or Branch Terms of Service, these Rewards Program Terms control with respect to this Rewards Program, but only to the extent required to resolve the inconsistency.

  1. Definitions. For purposes of these Rewards Program Terms:
    1. “Cash Back” means the monetary reward credited to your Shopper Card account in connection with an Eligible Transaction.
    2. “Eligible Transaction” means a purchase that qualifies for Cash Back under Section 4 (Earning Cash Back).
    3. “MCC” means the Merchant Category Code assigned by Mastercard that identifies the merchant type.
    4. “Program Status” means the reward tier level (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, or No Status) applicable to your account, as determined by Us.
    5. “Rewards Program” means the Shopper Card Rewards cash back program described herein.
    6. “Shopper Card” means the debit card made available through Maplebear, Inc. dba Instacart (“Instacart”), powered by Branch Messenger, Inc.* (“Branch”), and issued by Lead Bank, Member FDIC (“Lead”), pursuant to a license from Mastercard.  (Collectively, “We”, “Our”, or “Us”).
    7. “You” or “Your” refers to the Shopper Card accountholder.
  2. General Terms
    1. Changes to the Program. We may change these Rewards Program Terms, including reward rates, monthly limits, eligibility requirements, or other program features, at any time, subject to Applicable Law. Unless otherwise required by law, you will be provided with at least thirty (30) days’ prior notice of any material changes.
    2. Enrollment. You will be automatically enrolled in the Rewards Program upon issuance of your Shopper Card. No separate application is required.
  3. Eligibility for Rewards Program. Your eligibility to participate in the Rewards Program is contingent on the following:
    1. You must have an active Shopper Card account in good standing at the time Cash Back is earned, and 
    2. You must meet any additional eligibility requirements communicated by Us.
  4. Earning Cash Back
    1. Cash Back on Gas and EV Charging. Use the Shopper Card to earn Cash Back on eligible gas and EV charging purchases. Cash Back will be awarded at the following rates, depending on your Program Status:
      1. Diamond: 3%
      2. Platinum: 1%
      3. Gold: 1%
      4. Not in Cart Star: 1%
    2. To receive Cash Back:
      1. Gas Purchases: Must be made at the pump, processed under MCC 5542 (Automated Fuel Dispensers), and routed as “Signature” or “Credit.” Selecting “Credit” or “Bypass PIN” at the pump is required. Transactions where a PIN is entered will not qualify. In-store transactions will not be eligible.
      2. EV Charging Purchases: Must be made at the charging station or through the charging station’s app, processed under MCC 5552 (Electric Vehicle Charging).
      3. Cash Back will typically be credited within one (1) to two (2) business days after the qualifying transaction posts, but timing may vary.
  5. Reward Limits. Total Cash Back limited to $100 per calendar month.
  6. Mastercard Easy Savings® Program. You may also have the option to earn additional Cash Back on eligible purchases made with your Shopper Card at merchants participating in the Mastercard Easy Savings® program. Any Cash Back or other rewards related to Mastercard Easy Savings® are subject to Mastercard’s terms and conditions. Neither Instacart, Branch, nor Lead are responsible for the products and/or services offered by third parties, or for the terms and conditions under which those products and/or services are offered.
  7. No Fee Payouts. Earnings will automatically be deposited to your Shopper Card account once Cash Back has been calculated. Most payouts occur within one to two business days of the qualifying transaction posting. There is no fee associated with Rewards Program payouts to your Shopper Card. We may elect to charge a fee for payouts at any time, subject to notice.
  8. Suspension / Termination of Your Participation in the Rewards Program
    1. Your ability to earn, use or redeem Cash Back will be terminated if either:
      1. You close your Shopper Card account, or
      2. We place your account in a status that prevents you from receiving deposits.
    2. We may suspend or prohibit your participation in the Rewards Program if you:
      1. Violate any terms and conditions associated with the Shopper Card or your account, 
      2. Act in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws,
      3. Engage in misconduct, wrongdoing, fraud, or inappropriate acts,
      4. Structure purchases or conduct transactions to manufacture spend, or
      5. No longer meet the Rewards Program eligibility criteria.
  9. Forfeiture of Rewards. Any unredeemed Cash Back will be forfeited if your account is closed, terminated due to misuse, or otherwise not in good standing at the time of closure.
  10. Additional Rewards Program Terms. Rewards Program features, including but not limited to Cash Back amounts, eligibility requirements, and the types of rewards available or conditions thereto, are subject to change at any time, in Our sole discretion, unless otherwise required by law.

Branch is not responsible for the products and/or services offered by other companies, or for the terms and conditions under which those products and/or services are offered. Use of your Shopper Card is subject to these Rewards Program Terms, the Business Cardholder Agreement, and any other applicable agreements. Card benefits are subject to change. Bank account opening is subject to Our approval.

Notwithstanding any terms applicable to your Shopper Card, We may terminate, suspend, or modify the Rewards Program, in whole or in part, at any time upon notice to you, subject to applicable law.

*Branch is not a bank. Banking services are provided by the Lead Bank, Member FDIC. FDIC insurance applies only for eligible accounts in the event the bank holding your funds fails. The Shopper Card is a Mastercard debit card issued by the Lead Bank, pursuant to a license from Mastercard, and may be used everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted. By applying, you agree to the Shopper Card Fee Schedule.
